Many of us have realised that the values of freedom and justice, of free speech and equality, were never meant to be applied to all people. We have seen the lengths our governments are willing to go to, not only to silence us, but to keep the war machine chugging along. Conservatives or Labour, Democrats or Republicans, our governments interests no longer lies in serving the people, but in serving the interests of big money players.

Contentions with Language: manipulating words & ideas to manufacture consent
I’m tired of always having to centre, and even consider, the feelings of those who consistently oppress and dehumanize us in all my conversations. I’m tired of even hearing the prefixes of condemnation and apologists about hostages before feeling safe enough to speak about the atrocities that are happening daily in Gaza, the West bank, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria. To me it’s audacious to even say “Israeli victims” when speaking about the genocide the illegal state is carrying out. Israel is a settler colonial, apartheid state. It’s indecent to expect me to have sympathy for the people who are oppressing my people.
Mass Graves and Dispersed Humanity
Its estimated around 1.3 million Palestinians have fled to Rafah, the southern most city in Gaza. Its original population was around 280,000. Its now a sea of tents housing a displaced population. The water and electricity have long been cut off and this tiny area, approximately 25 square miles, is now home to more than half of the total population of Gaza. According to Amnesty, over 1.5 million people trapped in Rafah have nowhere safe to go, and many have already been displaced multiple times. All of the Israeli supposed-safe spaces have been compromised, without exception, further proof that there was never truly anywhere safe in Gaza.
