I started the year strong with 8 books, I knew I wanted to read at least one Japanese author for January in Japan, and I opted for a classic The Inugami Curse by Seishi Yokomizo. I also wanted to try some Agatha Christie, for the first time in my thirty-eight years of life, and decided to go for two short stories featuring Hercule Poirot.
Reading, whether it’s a single book or a hundred, should be done for pleasure and joy, or to spoil the ending of a book for your husband. Whatever your reasons, I hope you’ve also had a great year of reading.
Now that we’ve passed the middle point of the year (July 2nd, unless its a leap year) I thought I’d share my reading update. I set myself an arbitrary goal of 50 books this year, there’s a blog post on my reasoning (or lack of) if you’re interested, so I thought this might be the perfect time to update you on my progress.
